CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP

Christmas trees are picked up by borough crews in the weeks following the holiday season. Residents need only discard their tree at the nearest street corner. The trees are hauled to the borough's recycling center, where they are chipped into mulch and later used on area walking trails.

LEAF SWEEPING

Borough crews begin collecting leaves throughout the borough in mid-October. Residents are asked to rake all leaves into rows along the curb. A vacuum truck is used to pickup leaves from yards and sidewalks. The leaves are hauled to the borough recycling center where they are composted for later use.

PARKING REGULATIONS

The Winter Parking Ordinance is in effect in Ebensburg between December 1st and March 31st.  During this time, parking is limited to one side of the street.  Each street is different, so please pay special attention to the posted signs.  In addition, in order to allow for clearing of snow, all parking is banned in the municipal and county lots from 2:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. every day. New this year, no parking is allowed in the downtown on Wednesdays from 4:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.

SNOW COVERED SIDEWALKS

§21-1001. Prompt Removal Required.

It shall be unlawful to permit snow or ice to remain upon the sidewalks within the Borough of Ebensburg for a longer period that 6 hours after the same shall have fallen or formed, provided that snow falling or ice forming after 6 p.m. shall be removed at any time before 12 noon of the next day; or to permit snow to lie upon the roof of any building or icicles to form in such quantities as to endanger the safety of persons passing along the sidewalks.
